Warm Up
|
Students
sit in groups.(4-5 ss in each group)
Teacher
introduce the topic of the lesson by saying 2 or 3 sentences like these:
-If you
are wearing black boots, stand up!
-If you
are 12, stand up!
-If
you’ve eaten pizza today, stand up!
_if you
have a sister, stand up!
Then T writes
on the board
“IF you(have\are\’ve been to\’ve eaten\are wearing\like\don’t like\...,
stand up!”
And encourages
the students to say different sentences using the structure.
Volunteers
say own sentences and the rest of the class either stand up or sit according
the true facts about themselves.
Teacher sticks randomly large pieces of paper,
with a single word on each of them, on the board, and tell the students to
rearrange the words so that to make a correct sentence. After accomplishing
this activity teacher tells them that it is the main topic of the
lesson. (students must build the
following sentence- It’s Okay to be
different)

Activity 1
|
Teacher
tells them that they are going to answer questions in groups and distributes
the cards with the questions on them. Students don’t know what is written in
each card. In turns they blindly pick up the card, read the question in a
group and answer it.
(questions
do be distributed in groups:
while
students are working , teacher sticks
the flip-chart on the board with the same questions and when all the student are
done, teacher once more goes through
all this questions and the volunteer students answer only one question for
the whole class.
After
this, teacher distributes handout 1
and tells them to look at the page 3,(what I like?) read
the questions and write the answers on their own.

Activity 2
|
After accomplishing the first activity, teacher
writes on the board “I’m a special
one” and brainstorms the students and tells them that they will realize
their uniqueness after managing doing the following task.
Teacher sticks the flip-chart on the board
and tells the class to look at page 1,
(I’m a special one) in the same handout, and explains
the task.
After explanation, Teacher says that they
have only 5 min to finish this
assignment and sets the time.
Students must write a paragraph about
themselves using the framework. After
this they must draw a simple self-portrait inside a given frame.
Students will share their works in a group
and some volunteers will read out, what they’ve written, for the whole class.

Activity 3
|
Teacher distributes
handout 2 for the task on page 4 and sticks the flip-chart on
the board with the same wording what is given in handout 2. Explains the task and makes sure that everyone knows
what these words mean.
Then gives handout 2.
Students
must write one suitable word in each line. After they finish writing all the
words, teacher tells them to cut out these words carefully. And only then T
tells the students to look at page 4
(my created story) and stick these words in a
proper place.
Each student will create his\her own,
different story.
(students must be careful with
numbers as each word is numbered and must go to its place)
Those
students, who accomplish this task earlier, can share their works with each
other.

Activity 4
|
For the
final activity, Teacher tells them that we are all different and these
differences make us special.
Teacher sticks another flip-chart on the board with
the same task that is written on page
2 and explains the activity. Then tells the students to look at page 2 (It’s Okay to be different)
and finish the sentences using own ideas.
For the last question students must finish
the drawing using their own imagination and views over the things. T
warns them not to copy their group members’ ideas while accomplishing this
task.
Then T randomly asks different students to
read out their sentences for the whole class.
At the
end of the lesson all the students share their self-portraits in a class by
sticking them on the wall so that everyone can have a look at each other’s
work.
As the
wrap-up of the lesson the teacher once again goes through all this sentences
and asks students to express their ideas openly in the class.
