Tables
are set in 6 groups and on each table there is the name of the group. (For example: Brave, Smart, Amazing, Kind, Supportive, patriot). Each student
must pick previously prepared a slip of paper with the name of the group on
it and take the place.

distributes and shows on a big screen a questionnaire. In pair Ss read the statements and make their choice whether they
agree with the statement or not.
T asks ss to write
“agree” and “disagree” one on each side of the paper. Reads the statements
out from the screen and tells them to hold up a piece of paper with the word agree after
each statement that matches their opinion of what makes a hero. And the word
disagree if the statement does not fit their opinion
of what makes a hero.
4.Then they individually must finish this
sentence using
own ideas.

Ss will share their ideas in groups and then
to the class.

Activity 1

T writes “adjectives” on one side of the word hero, on a board, and on the other side “heroic acts” and asks students
to think the adjectives connected to the word “hero” and share ideas in
groups. Then a speaker from each group comes to the board and writes those
adjectives. They also have to think of heroic deeds and write their ideas
under the title “heroic acts”.
(Ss can use either dictionaries while
doing this task)

displays a chart with questions and a framework for the paragraph. T explains
the task and tells the students to think of a hero and write a paragraph
about him/her.

distributes frameworks. Ss individually fill in /write a paragraph on a large
piece of paper. Volunteers share their work to the class and then stick them on the board. Everyone should write and hand
in the paragraph according their abilities.
