Competition for Teacher Generated Materials

Dear ELCE-II Participant Teachers from Tbilisi and Samtskhe-Javakheti,

ELCE-II Competition for Teacher Generated Materials has already started! J
This means that you should hurry to submit your lesson plans (and handouts that come with it). The lesson plan and supplementary materials (handouts presentations) should include the name and school of the author and also the grade it is intended for. You should send the materials to: nana.ioseliani@ph-int.org . Deadline for submitting the lesson plans is February 28, 2015.

Here’s what will happen after you submit your materials:
  1. We will register all the materials and upload them to our blog www.elce-online.com . The name of the author will not be indicated to ensure transparency and impartiality when voting for the best lesson plan. Only the grade will be mentioned.
  2. All the ELCE-II participant teachers and students are required to go online and vote for the lesson plan they like the most. The website you have to visit for voting is www.elce-online.com
  3. The voting will occur from March 9 through March 15, 2015;
  4. We will have three categories: elementary grades (1-5); secondary grades (6-9); high school grades (10-12) and consequently, there will be three winners (one per category).
  5. The winners will be awarded with a certificate and a gift (gift is a surprise).
  6. Please, note that the alumni of ELCE-I will also participate in the voting (but not in the competition).
  7. Please, note that the competition is not region specific. Everybody (all the ELCE-II participants from Tbilisi and Samtskhe-Javakheti) will be competing with everybody.
Criteria for assessing the lesson plans are as follows:
  • Includes clearly stated pedagogical, language and civic education objectives;
  • Focuses on the learner & gives evidence of activities which include all students;
  • Activities reflect logical steps toward achievement of objective
  • Activities contain scaffolding – through specific directions and/or handouts.
  • Final activity shows evidence that learners have achieved the objective
  • Incorporates communicative approach to language
  • Material is engaging and age/level specific
  • Lesson plan contains enough specific instructions to enable a teacher to use the lesson plan without having attended ELCE workshops.

Please, feel free to contact us for any additional questions.
Good luck!!!

ELCE-II Team J
